When you look at your face in the mirror, do you sometimes wish you could just wave a wand over your skin and remove some of the imperfections—the fine lines, the age spots, the blackheads and enlarged pores, the superficial acne scarring? Well, microdermabrasion is a non-invasive cosmetic skin procedure that acts much like that magic wand. It removes the dead cells on the outermost layer (the stratum corneum) of the skin. What emerges is a smoother, more evenly textured new top layer of skin—one that appears younger, more vibrant.
There are two basic methods of microdermabrasion. One lightly “sands” the skin with tiny crystal particulates; the other gently scrapes off the dead cells with rotating paddles. These methods are being constantly refined to make them even more effective. Your doctor can discuss with you which method would be most appropriate for your individual skin type and skin problem. Call today for a personal consultation.
