Exfoliation

A Dead Cell Layer

  • A Dead Cell Layer
  • Microdermabrasion and Exfoliation
  • Improves Topical Products
  • Our skin is designed with a dead cell layer, known as the stratum corneum, which protects our skin from outside elements. These cells eventually slough off and are replaced as living cells die off. This layer, while serving a valuable function, can make the skin look aged and cause make-up to cake on. This will make our skin look even worse.

    Microdermabrasion and Exfoliation

Exfoliation is the process of removing these dead skin cells and debris and improving the superficial texture of the skin. This is precisely what microdermabrasion is designed to do. By taking off these dead cells the skin is exfoliated and a smoother, more youthful appearance can be seen.

    Improves Topical Products

Microdermabrasion takes away the dead skin layer and stimulates the rest of the skin to reproduce and replace what was taken away. That creates a perfect situation for adding things to the skin that can get in deeper because the skin is now more permeable. Topical products can penetrate through the surface layer of the skin more easily.
